Welcome to the Fuwanovel VNTS, where we shamelessly copy the work of one illustrious 4chan /jp/ member in collating translation progress and add minor dabs of value through corrections and additions. Entries with updates this week in bold.
So, we have snow times now and it’s getting colder. The ideal time to fire up a house fire and play some VNs to stay warm and cozy. This week we had a bunch of interesting percentage updates, but not really many releases to go through. There seems to be a much more active fan translation scene these days, however, so we have some new projects in the rotation. The most happy thing to announce is probably that Kusarihime is back on the menu again, the folks behind it simply didn’t report their edits much.
Zaka didn’t want to VNTS last week, but this year he’s back on the menu. We will talk some internally important Fuwanovel changes in this post as well, because while we had planned to have a recap format for this, this is no more… well, you will hear more in Hata’s section.

「So named because you must all read it and thus subject your eyes to countless saccades, of course. Did you know the rude autocorrect in my miserable browser thinks this isn’t a word? Whatever. I guess I’m back this week. Don’t ask me how long I spent reading random shit from the saccade article and then some article about a rare congenital disorder just now.
One of the funnier things I did last week was join a podcast-cum-otaku menagerie to make the Daybreak team’s podcast. I’m mostly just there as a friend of Bee, but I do help him with difficult lines sometimes. Nevertheless my gigantic ego and voluminous charisma autism was enough to save the day for several VNs which otherwise would have been given simply unacceptable ratings. Unfortunately said podcast is not currently available due to… uhh… let’s say technical issues necessitating a little editing of its contents. Consider this paragraph my way of guilt-tripping our most benevolent bee into actually performing said edit in due time. Though I understand the actions of a certain cerebrally deficient gentleman with neither clue nor sense whose name may resemble “blood world” provided one has sufficient linguistic competence may somewhat occupy his mind at the moment. Anyway, looks like Ginharu’s release is getting close. I’m sure someone cares about that.
The Hamefura otomege is out. As previously mentioned while the LNs reportedly focus on comfy friendship building, the VN seems to give you actual romance options.
Oh, and Tensei Games announced three whole totally-not-based-on-certain-well-known-vtuber nukige. Wooooow.

「Oh well, guess that Zaka didn’t write much, but that is okay – because I’m going to write another essay to cover this week. However, first we have some team news to report: Some team member changes that occurred this week and that could affect Fuwanovel a little.
The biggest development is that our former supplemental blog manager Fujoneko had left the team to pursue new opportunities. We still absolutely love each other as ex-colleagues and Fujo’s always welcome on our server, but he’s going to open his own blog and deal with some loose ends in his life. In his stead, one of our capable blog writers Kosakyun has been elevated to Fuwakai Candidate. There was also a major change in our R&D department with Happiness+, the prior webmaster, leaving in favor of Sirus who will be leading this department gracefully.
For those who don’t know, Fuwanovel has pretty much a “Board of Directors” called the Fuwakai consisting of presently six members, each covering a different aspect of management. The Six Heavenly Kings, so to speak. They’re making sure that Fuwanovel runs as smoothly as it does.

With the help of our new leadership, we’re able to realize what Fuwanovel wanted to achieve for years: A rework of the recommendation quiz, tool creation as well as better internal structure and documentation of already existing processes and structures.
But let’s get into the games.
Okay, first we have Akatsuki no Goei ~Tsumibukaki Shuumatsuron~ that’s progressing smoothly despite them also exerting effort on other projects like Gin’iro Haruka. Funnily enough, they did have time to run a 5 hour podcast featuring a visual novel tierlist lately. Zaka has already told you about this one. Bee first has to edit it. Check their earlier streams though!
However, there was a bit of a controversy around the Daybreak projects this week. Apparently, someone found out that not all of the staff are fond of the way characters talk about incestual relationships in-game and this was picked up on by people on Twitter and Reddit. After the discussion was about to dip into toxic territory, the editor of the Daybreak projects who was targeted went to reddit to post a long explanation giving more context. It does seem like his explanation cleared up some things further and he’s been forgiven.
Gin’Iro Haruka was updated as well. The Quality Assurance stage is done and they’re preparing the final build. Daybreak Translations are really getting their game on lately. And there’s something EVEN better to report!
After a long absence of information (mainly because no one in the VNTS thought it was necessary to update) Kusarihime ~euthanasia~ is back on the table. The Melancholy team and in particular VS and his editor have been working on achieving progress. At this point, there’s nearly 50% of editing done, which means we could be looking at a release in early to middle 2024 if there’s nothing interfering. That’s it for the Daybreak Block!
Next, there’s RunQ who recently released a patch for an old Orcsoft game that has since been remade. Well, Rattanman Trans announced as his representative that said remake Oku-sama wa Moto Yariman 2022 has been translated as well. Funnily enough, okomeman, the guy behind Orcsoft retweeted both fan translations, making it somewhat semi-condoned? It’s strange though, because I’m sure this has been on publisher’s radar before… Well, there’s dozens of other Orcsoft/Dwarfsoft games left to work on.
Tsuma Netori by Rattanman has been progressing as well, just keep tabs on his twitter.
While it is not listed in VNTS at all, Denpasoft dropped four releases at once. At this point of time we didn’t even report on them on Fuwanovel because they’re outside of the scope of what we usually cover. These four titles are from Blue Arrow Garden and instead of visual novels, they are 3D animation games like Koikatsu Party that have been first announced at Anime Expo 2022. While they aren’t listed under visual novels, we thought they’re worth mentioning as they may have a narrative to them.

Shiravune had another release these days with Succubus Sessions: Mami Mamiya’s Sweet Slice of Hell by Argonauts. If you enjoyed the first game with the blonde, you’ll enjoy this game as well. Our German folks over at Visual-novel.info have actually published a review of the game after a long absence of new content. It didn’t get the best score, but the critique is formulated fairly. The review is in German and you maybe need to MTL it. Leave Lukimana a nice comment!
Next, there’s finally a release period announced for Nukitashi 2 and its much earlier than first anticipated. Shiravune wants to release it in Q1 2024, a game as massive as this. This will hopefully not contain the same weirdness as the Nukitashi 1 translation did, because the localization team isn’t undermined by an editor who wanted to harm the game and jab at the readers. We can only hope. The trailer is super hype and the title BWLAUTE BEIRRD is actually an anagram to BLUEWATER BIRD. Smart!
Destiny Star Girlfriend didn’t have a release date announced for a while, but now Shiravune dropped the announcement that it’ll be released on the 14th of December – one day after my birthday, actually! We have a review for this done for like months now, and we will release it on one of the next days now.
Idea Factory has released their newest Otome with My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Pirates of the Disturbance. I haven’t watched anime in a while, but I think this show and game features some really great comedy and maybe a good story. I might get to play it throughout the winter break… 🙂
Okay, we’re getting to the end. Tensei Games has released three games with way too long titles that all have to do with Vtubers you stan. These are:

This week VNTS Review, and well no much to say other than only two updates are interesting, namely Ginharu update before Yuzuki’s patch (Which I’ve been looking forward simply because it’s the full translation patch of Ginharu rather than the little sister heroine) and Mamiya Mami release (Which has good looking graphic courtesy of usual Moonstone artist). Also it’s too bad that Amazing Grace release was delayed, but nothing we can do much about it.
