Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon receives a Limited Edition Physical Release

Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon, initially released on August 26, 2021 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, is the first part of a remake of the cult classic visual novel, Tsukihime. Both the original and the remake were created by TYPE-MOON, with the original visual novel being released all the way back on December 29, 2000. Until a recent announcement earlier this year both novels were exclusively released in Japan.

Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon - Shiki meets Arcueid

During Anime Expo this year, TYPE-MOON announced that the remake would be receiving an English version, stated to release in early 2024. Recently, a new Amazon listing for a limited edition physical copy of the English edition surfaced on the website. It appears to resemble the limited edition box of the Japanese version which released back in 2021, however it’s been modified to reflect the regional change.

Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon - Ciel and Arcueid

The limited edition will include the game, a special material book, as well as a collector’s box. As of now there’s no confirmed price or definitive release date for this limited edition copy. However, considering the listing was just created a few days ago, it’s reasonable to assume this will be releasing very soon within the next few months.

Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon - Arcueid

The remake has only covered Arcueid and Ciel’s routes so far, which make up the “Near Side of the Moon” portion of the original story. A remake of the “Far Side of the Moon” portion, Tsukihime -The other side of red garden- is currently in development. Several elements in A Piece of Blue Glass Moon are changed from the original. The story takes place in the 2010’s, rather than the year 1999 as it did in the original. Many plot beats have been expanded on and added, new characters have also been introduced. It’s a compelling remake for fans of the series, and newcomers alike. The remake takes anywhere between 60 – 70 hours to complete, so you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth purchasing this title.
