「Brb, rioting.

…alright, finished rioting due to the forums upgrade. I’m still mentally rioting though, just not actually trashing neighbourhood shops and looting them for gold coins, chocolate, and experience points (that’s what you do, right?).

First off, let’s mention that my review of A Kiss For The Petals: Remembering How We Met Is Way Too Flipping Long Of A Title actually happened, and is in fact posted on FuwaReviews. I’m as surprised as you are. There’s supposed to be another review of the same VN written by [CENSORED], hopefully that goes up soon because I think it brings up a lot of new angles and gives it 4/10. And let’s face it, giving things 4/10 is just glorious, even if it’s Little Busters.

Especially if it’s Little Busters.

I remember being a quite bit hyped for Flowers at one point (though this was also about when the second part of the series was released), but I’m not really today and I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s because I have such a huge backlog anyway, sigh. It’s nice to see some more stuff on it (was it really added just now though? weird.) I must say that although the diction is decent, some of the writing seems to maintain too much of a Japanese structure. For example, the last paragraph of the introduction… meh.

CLANNAD November release, eh. I sure read that a loooooong while ago. About as long as the actual VN is, so basically late 2012. I wonder if we’ll have any reviewers dodge reading it in full simply because of that, though I guess Grisaia is actually longer. On a sidenote, what the hell is up with randomly needing to get acquainted with Nagisa to get the good Tomoyo ending? Thank god I started using a walkthrough after that incident.

Wonder what happened to Tenshin Ranman, if anything. I rememeber one of my friends recommending it when talking about Yuzusoft VNs (I was and am forever reading Yuzu’s Amairo Islenauts at a snail’s pace; thus). It is an adult title, but so are a lot of the other things on the calendar.

With Toko ch.0 and The Menagerie out, Lupiesoft might actually get Dizzy Hearts out the door soon. This was one of the earlier VNs in the OELVN Kickstarter wave, and I remember actually being quite interested in it. That and Driftwood. Thankfully I never pledged to either, so it’s too bad I did for Dysfunctional Systems 2/3 T_T.

In closing: it’s nice to see that we can all agree on the date today, something that doesn’t occur too often.」

Decay’s Musings

Wow, this was a slow week, huh? I keep saying to wait for the deluge of releases and then weeks like this start happening. It sort of makes me look silly. But this is the calm before the storm… maybe. I still suspect we will receive an inordinate amount of translation releases these next 3 months to close out the year. Shiny Days and KoiRizo are still fresh off the assembly lines and KnS2 is tantalizingly close. I’m personally looking forward to that one quite a bit.

Meanwhile, in this dull period Tay decided to upgrade the Fuwanovel forums. Everything feels so… different. People are of course complaining, and a lot of it is simply due to things not being fully configured. Tay has been busy all day along addressing complaints and I’m sure him and Nayleen (the site coder) will be busy all weekend addressing more issues. I expect most common issues to be ironed out shortly. And of course a lot of people will simply complain just because it’s different, such is the way of things. They’ll get used to it.

Also I want to give a quick thank you to both JAST and Sekai Project for stepping up their communication game lately. JAST’s more frequently updated and detailed project status page is a big help and Sekai Project has been answering a lot of questions about their various projects on tumblr as well as committing to being more transparent with their project statuses, and unleashing a barrage of kickstarter updates for all of their kickstarted projects. Thank you for keeping us all in the loop.
