Meet the Tribes

Human Tribe

Ichiro Mimori

Protagonist

During the Pacific War, Ichiro Mimori, a petty officer and Zero fighter pilot, was about to launch a kamikaze attack on an enemy ship, when instead he finds himself crash-landing into an unfamiliar desert. As he wanders around lost, desperate for water, he is rescued by a strange princess who can transform into a dragon.

Ichiro has no idea where he is, or how to get back home – and even if he did make it back, an almost certain death would await him. Yet, the loyal soldier is determined to return to Japan no matter what it takes, in order to fulfill a promise he made…

Dragon Tribe

Known by several names, such as Dragons, lizards, and Archgenians, this tribe is the oldest demi-human race in this world. They are said to live up to ten times longer than humans. Female dragons are born in humanoid forms, and as they age, some of them gain the ability to transform into a flying, fire-breathing wyvern… In rare cases, they can also spit lighting. The males of the tribe look like lizardmen—they cannot transform, but their powerful build allows them to excel as soldiers and warriors.

Yukikaze Geneblood

VA: Kawashima Rino

Yukikaze was originally a princess first-in-line to the throne, but after leaving her kingdom, she became supreme commander of the non-governmental territorial defense militia “Barauhl.” She can transform into a dragon. Because she was born into the royal family as a princess, she is quite estranged from the customs of the world, but she is always curious about her surroundings.

Yukikaze is the one who picked up Ichiro, the castaway from another world, in the desert. She haughtily acts as if Ichiro as her personal property, but often gets irritated by him when he won’t do what she says.

Dog Tribe and Cat Tribe

Dog Tribe

Also known as Lulucarions, the dog tribe is a short-lived race that values strength. Thanks to their stamina, alertness, and agility, they excel at guerilla warfare in the mountains. However, they tend to not be very clever. Only the females are capable of shapeshifting between their dog forms and humanoid forms, while the males remain in a wolfman-like form at all times.

Cat Tribe

Also known as Chaolia, the members of this tribe have keen minds and weak bodies, opposite of the dogs. Very curious, they just can’t seem keep still, which explains their nomadic behavior. Some Chaolia are accomplished sorcerers, using a type of magic unique to their tribe.

Aioh “Ailah” Lioh Camylia

VA: Kiyotama Sumika

A young woman formally known as Aioh Lioh Camylia. She is the vice-representative of the caravan, and is the head of the Lulucarion (Dog) warriors.

As Ailah was taken in by the caravan when she was orphaned during the war ten years ago, she has quite a bit of seniority. She’s eager to give up her current position so she can fight on the front lines, something which she’s been raring to do.

Currently, due to the relationship between the Dogs and the Dragons, the path to forming an alliance is still long and treacherous. It also appears as if she has some kind of deep personal past with Dragons herself…

Mermaid Tribe

A race of only women, who can breathe underwater when they transform into their half-fish form. They sing a powerful song called the “sacred chant,” but they dislike fighting and war, and declare themselves pacifists. However, attacks from the other tribes have caused their number to dwindle to the edge of extinction.

Meltyna

VA: Saegusa Moko

A Mermaid girl who lives in Aqulah, the town governed by the Mermaids, who are on the verge of extinction. Since the “Raid on Aqulah” instigated by the Wisla Empire six years ago, she has been working as an attendant for the clan’s matriarch.

She has very large breasts and is interested in sex and the like, but her knowledge on the subject is fairly superficial…

Her intelligence is just as one would expect by looking at her, but she is extremely feminine and is very good at all kinds of housework.

Undeads and Dwarves

Undead

Also called zombies, Undead are born when a necromancer temporarily summons the soul back to a corpse. They can be controlled only when they are within the necromancer’s range, otherwise they simply rampage wherever they please. In war they are used as disposable soldiers. Their performance varies wildly depending on the race they belonged to before dying, the freshness of the corpse, and each individual’s abilities. In any case, their bodies are doomed to decompose if they are not maintained.

Dwarves

Dwarves are small creatures who live underground. They run the Miners’ Guild, which is responsible for distributing metals and minerals to each country. Although dexterous and intelligent, they tend to be seen as a lower-class tribe because of their short-temper. They are very proud and inflexible, which can sometimes get them into trouble.

Sotereah

VA: Serizono Miya

A zombie whose date of birth is unknown. Her appearance may lead some to believe that she is quite young, but in fact, she has lived longer than Ichiro since she became an undead so many years ago. She serves as a slave to the necromancer and zombie master Ozoth, and works with her fellow zombies in the mines.

Compared to them, Reah’s body is extremely fresh, meaning she recovers relatively quickly even if all four of her limbs are severed. The symbol of her fate as a slave is branded on her chest, and a ball and chain is attached to her ankle.

The Principality of Wisla

The country of pure humans, who call themselves “the new race.” Although the country shares its origins with the Archgene Kingdom, Wisla considers demi-human tribes as inferior, and does not recognize their rights.
