On August 1st 2023, Shiravune announced they will be releasing their games on other platforms: Kagura Games, JAST USA, and MangaGamer. These changes are now being applied, starting this August.
This announcement was a joy for VN players all over the world! With this announcement, it’ll be possible to get these releases from other stores beside Steam and Johren — where the R18 patches would be available.
The benefit of releasing their games on other platforms? Firstly, it’s even more convenient than before, without needing to deal with Johren, DRM or a R18 patch. It’s highly probable the next releases will follow suit.
On Shiravune’s Discord server, the head of Shiravune and localization manager Robert Kleinhenz made a statement on how they were looking to release AQUAPLUS‘ Dungeon Travelers 2 and 2-2 on other platforms.
Later on June 8th 2023, Shiravune made a tweet a day before the release of this game, stating the possibility of releasing their games on other platforms.
Then the miracle happens: Shiravune will be releasing their games on other platforms starting this month August, so let’s celebrate!

JAST USA is a visual novel localizer and publisher focused on bringing bishoujo games including dating sims and eroge to the West. It was founded in 1997 with Tiare‘s Season of the Sakura and JAST‘s Three Sisters’ Story as its first eroge titles.
The publisher is also part of J-List, Peach Princess, and G-Collections, all owned by Peter Payne. Its most notable releases are Saya no Uta, STEINS;GATE, Eiyuu * Senki and Eiyuu * Senki GOLD, Onigokko! and its fandisc, Full Metal Daemon Muramasa among countless others. JAST has its own imprints, them being JAST BLUE and JAST Densetsu. While JAST BLUE focuses on BL titles, JAST Densetsu “has been created as the brand that will bring together the pinnacle of achievement of the visual novel craft as chosen from among our upcoming games.”

MangaGamer is a video game and visual novel publisher, as well as a localizer, specializing in the English localization and distribution of Japanese visual novels. It is run by Japanese-based company Japan Animation Contents.
Their most notable releases are the Higurashi and Umineko: When They Cry series, the Rance Series, euphoria, The House in Fata Morgana, among many others.

Kagura Games is an American publishing company that specializes in the translation, localization, marketing, and distribution of Japanese video games into English and Chinese. It was born in 2018 and has since become one of the biggest publishers in the industry. They have also localized several RPGs, such as Loretta’s Brand New Job and Succubus Prison.
When it comes to visual novels, their most known releases are Lilipalace, Lilitales, Magic & Slash -Riru’s Sexy Grand Adventure-, and How to Build a Magnificent Kingdom.
They have made an announcement on their upcoming releases, them being Forsaken Quartet, Samurai Vandalism, and Winter Memories.
