The recently revealed Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion by MAGES. & Team GrisGris just dropped a new bone-chilling announcement trailer, a short live-action PV, and an updated website. It depicts a modern setting with the theme of livestreaming and, of course, a curse.
The title is planned to release in Fall 2024 for the Switch, PS4, and Steam.

Story
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three high school friends; Haruka Nanami, Nemu Takanashi, and Maria Hitsugi, as they explore the Amare Est Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend as the streamer Nemu seeks to boost her subscriber count. Unfortunately for the three girls, the legend of “Ayame’s Mercy” is true, and they trigger a decades-old curse that sends them into a dark realm. Together they must avoid the vengeful spirit of Ayame Kirishima and other horrors from the hospital’s dark past as they search for a way to dispel Ayame’s curse once and for all.
Gameplay
While few details have been revealed, we can get a glimpse of how it will play through another released teaser.
The game features 3D visuals, with the camera able to rotate around the character. Various characters will be playable. Additionally, there appear to be escape sequences from ghosts, as the UI includes aspects commonly seen in stealth gameplay, such as a health bar, stamina bar, and a visibility indicator. Like the previous games, there will likely be plenty of visual novel sequences and choices that lead to different endings.

Haruka Nanami

The protagonist.

She is sometimes easily distracted and a bit of a klutz; what she lacks in social graces she makes up for in beauty.
She always stands up for what’s right, no matter what.
Nemu Takanashi
Age: 16 Voice: Rie Takahashi
Aomine Academy Senior High School, Class 1-3.
Active as a streamer on YouRTube.
Her talent agency, LEED, involves her in a variety of entertainment ventures, and she feels pressure to increase her subscriber numbers.
Maria Hitsugi
Age: 16 Voice: Emiri Suyama
Aomine Academy Senior High School, Class 1-3.
A mysterious girl with substantial knowledge of the occult.
Her mature words and actions characterize her calm personality.
Extra
The game will feature a premium edition nicknamed Ayame’s Mercy Edition, as shown below.
The premium edition will include a 64-page artbook with character designs by Fuyuno Yuuki, a metal medical kit case, a LED candle, an assortment of image cards, and an evidence kit mirroring papers discoverable in-game.
