Today, November 9th, 2023, Shuuen no Virche -ErroR:salvation- (localized as Virche Evermore: ErroR:salvation) releases in English for international audiences! Aksys Games initially revealed they’d be localizing the game during their Anime Expo 2022 panel as part of their 2023 release lineup. You can watch the panel here.
At this time, both the Chinese (traditional) localization and the English localization are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.
Virche Evermore: ErroR:salvation is an otome game developed by Idea Factory Co., Ltd. under their subbrand Otomate. Otomate is Idea Factory Co., Ltd’s otome-centric development arm and is famous for series such as Hakuoki, AMNESIA, and more recently the title Lover Pretend. Since Virche Evermore’s original release in Japanese during October 2021, Otomate has rereleased it for both iOS and Android and published a fandisk for the game (titled Shuuen no Virche -EpiC:lycoris-) as well. Arpéchéle is a small country in western Europe. Surrounded by the sea and black owers of misfortune called Licorise Nowargue, humans in this country are born with a death curse that causes them to die by the age of 23.
The people of the country lament and oppose their short-lived fates, and after many years of research, a memory download system is created that allows the memories of a person’s body live on after their inevitable death. Those who live forever through this system are known as “relivers” and continue to fight against the death curse that felled them.
In this country there is also a girl known as the God of Death, as it seems everyone she is involved with ends up plaqued by unhappiness. Her shame and regret lead her to decide to end her life, but just as she is about to act, a mysterious man who calls himself the Watchman of Death appears before her. Under the watchman’s guidance, the girl will approach the truth of the various mysteries of death that haunt the country of her birth, whether she likes it or not.
Little does she know, the only fate that awaits those possessed by the god of death is despair.
