However, this time around, they are not doing any translation or work for this visual novel. NekoNyan just acts as its publisher in the role of marketing for this visual novel instead. This marks the first original English visual novel project that’s being published by NekoNyan. It’s a new foray where they are less involved in the production process itself.

On a seemingly idyllic island, the Internet is shut down. What will become of those unable to adapt? In 2018, a lethal biological attack claims a significant number of lives. While tragedy occupies people's minds to the brim, a controlling governmental plan is put into effect.

Cerulean Days is the third original visual novel by developer Cascade of Leaves. It had a successful campaign on Kickstarter and is now here on Steam!

Cerulean Days is an original English visual novel from Cascade of Leaves. They are an English visual novel production and developer studio who produce mostly all ages titles. Their notable releases include Anomie, Winter’s Symphonies, and their most recent release Aquapolis of Sins – Chapter 1.

Recently, their project Cerulean Days is slated to release on Steam with the responsibility of NekoNyan as marketing and publishing part. This project had a successful kickstarter campaign in the past, as seen below:

This visual novel released its demo on August 9th 2019 on the Itch.io website. They also opened their Kickstarter for first time shortly after. On Kickstarter, they were able to collect SEK 222,166 or US$ 20,000 going towards this visual novel’s production costs.

On September 5th 2019, they were able to reach 100% of crowdfunding, approximately $12,000 – $14,000. As reward, they announced that the project was fully funded and they desired to add additional heroine poses. They also promised to make a full OP and ED Movie. R18+ of this game would follow, once they were able to reach $16,000 and $22,000.

On September 14th 2019, they were able to reach the target and Cerulean Days‘ production was confirmed. They also managed to add 18+ content.

On April 25th 2022, it finally happened and Cascade of Leaves were releasing this visual novel as Pre-Release Kickstarter Version on the Kickstarter website. The download link had been made available through Kickstarter if you were one of the backers, otherwise you would have to wait for the official release. According to VNDB, this pre-release version also released with 18+ content.

By August 23rd 2022, the game itself had not even been submitted to Steam’s platform. The reasoning was explained in this post. On the positive side, they were able to make a physical copy of this game on DVD.

Several months later, they found a visual novel publisher in NekoNyan. They asked for NekoNyan’s help to publish the game on Steam. On June 10th 2023, NekoNyan announced the game on Twitter without revealing its release date.

Inre Island.
A seemingly idyllic, modern island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. A constant tranquil breeze along a mild climate, and a well-off society embracing a harmonious way of life. Its citizens often refer to the island as their very own miracle, counting themselves lucky to have been born on it. Tourism is hampered despite Inre being a highly desired travel destination, and for good reason. Not only is it a trip only the rich can afford, a rigorous regime means a special visa is required for entry.
