On July 8th, 2023, an imageboard user called Fouq posted a downloadable archive of their incomplete LOVELY×CATION2 fan translation on /vn/ that they had kept for many years, in the futile hope for anyone to contact them, pick it up and continue the project.
LOVELY×CATION2, an entry in hibiki works‘s ×CATION franchise, was first released on October 20th, 2013 for PC and later received an all-ages port for PSVita. No titles in the xCATION series have received official localizations yet.
The archive includes a translation of 25% of the game, but so far the technical work and insertion of the script remain undone. Fouq indicated that it is unlikely they will continue the project, even if the technical aspects of it are eventually handled.
Fuwanovel would normally share the history behind such a project, but Fouq has been working in the official industry for years now and is, therefore, no longer active as a fan translator.
So far, no one has taken on the project, but Fouq’s post received some farewell messages from supporters. If you have any interest in helping out, feel free to download the archive!
