Firstly, I worked on this game as a translator, so I’m obviously quite biased! Therefore you should probably treat this more as a brief introduction to the game so you can decide if it’s something you’re interested in finding out more about, rather than an impartial review.

Kyoto Colorful Days is a drama visual novel with a touch of romance. The story follows the protagonist who comes to Kyoto, Japan, to figure out what the heck he’s doing in life. There he meets two girls, Akane and Madoka, who will play a part in his journey to find himself. It’s a short game, clocking in at about 3 hours for all routes and endings if you’re a relatively fast reader like myself. The game aims to be more mature than the typical highschool comedy-romance, with older characters and a focus on the problems in their lives.
