The Famous Ninja Eroge Taimanin Asagi Has Been Released!

On August 2nd 2023, publisher Shiravune has announced their (to this time) latest acquired license — this license of course being one of the more popular eroge series in Japan: Taimanin Asagi. This game is now available with its erotic content cut on Steam (20% launch sale) and unneutered on Johren.

Taimanin Asagi is a Black Lilith game, primarily known for its extreme erotic content and expansive universe, which spans a plethora of visual novels, mobile games, anime adaptations, and even live action flicks.

This isn’t the first time that the name Taimanin Asagi is heard of in the West. There was already an attempt by Dark Translations back in 2008 that isn’t available anymore due to a C&D notice by the developer. Later in 2012, Dark Initiative also released a patch that translated of one of the animated H-scenes missed by Dark Translations. Later in 2019, another Taimanin Asagi patch released as part of a fan translated Premium Box Version by Rattan Man Translations — someone who would become known for his fan work on a dozen of these darker eroge, and who tirelessly releases translation patches on his tumblr to this day. In fact, he even commented on this Taimanin Asagi official translation before.

During that same year, Black Lilith self-published the Taimanin Asagi trial version, featuring the game’s prologue as Taimanin Asagi 1: Trial on Steam under their mother company InfiniBrain Co., Ltd. In 2020, they also released another trial version with Taimanin Yukikaze on Steam. However, this one came under flack because they had visibly plagiarized a fan translation by YukikazeACute for this release. Afterwards, nothing was seen of official InfiniBrain localizations again.

And now, here’s Shiravune with an attempt that’s very likely to be successful, considering their track record.

The first game in the series features Sasayama Ittousai‘s direction along with scenarists Daitou Baku and Kimata Shinji. Daitou only had a few other Black Lilith games under his belt while Kimata worked on a plethora of other nukige prior to Taimanin Asagi. The director Sasayama has been with Black Lilith his whole career and continues to work with the franchise through their many gacha games.

We also have Kagami Hirotaka as the main artist, who got his start and big break with Taimanin Asagi. Nowadays, Kagami works with BISHOP and Black Lilith primarily.
