Zakabox™ 「This is the place where Zaka occasionally shares his wisdom. Will he show up this week? Will he have anything to say? Only time will tell.」

Decay’s MusingsHey look, a VNTS that’s on time! Despite what Tay has said in the past, he’s the real workhorse here, especially tonight where he did almost everything. This is all despite his serious school workload, random surgery duties, and other real life responsibilities. Please give him your energy, everyone, lord knows he deserves it.

This was a rather eventful week. MangaGamer’s first new VN announcements of the year came today, and it was a diverse showing for them. We have another loli nukige from the people behind Sweet Sweat in Summer, a BL title I never heard of which came out last year, and, well, a game that was technically already announced and MangaGamer did their best to pretend that it wasn’t. I get that they have their marketing plans for these things they don’t want to divert from, but maybe MG could be a bit more flexible with these kinds of things and acknowledge leaks when they become blindingly obvious enough. Like how Waffle let slip on their Japanese blog that Kyonyuu/Funbag Fantasy Gaiden is in translation, and a physical edition of the first game is planned. I wonder in what convention they plan on “announcing” that :p.

I am interested in Trinoline even if Minori’s output isn’t what it used to be. Supipara Chapter 1 was shallow and barren, eden* is lauded by many but something I found to be lacking in ways I found difficult to put my finger on, and the things I’ve heard about their post-Supipara work is concerning, at best. And yet, Minori is a company I will always follow. I’m a sucker for their high production values, and I really liked ef. Maybe some day they’ll be able to recapture that magic, or maybe I’ll be eternally disappointed. If nothing else, this will put more money in the Supipara Bucket, which is bound to net us Chapter 2 eventually.

And finally, Kuroinu’s first chapter is available. I know a lot of people were looking forward to that. Personally, while I do like some darker stuff, Kuroinu isn’t really the flavor of dark I’m into. I’d prefer something grittier and less fantastical. There’s something about Kuroinu’s aesthetic which I can’t actually consider truly dark, it’s too cartoonish to take seriously. Maybe it’s the ridiculously exposing armor or the copious amounts of ahegaos. It’s just not my cup of tea, but I do hope it lives up to the hype for those who are interested.

Well, time for me to go back to counting the hours before the Amazon delivery man arrives Tuesday. I made sure to clear up my oh-so-busy schedule and everything, only for me to get scheduled for an appointment at my local municipal office because according to them I don’t live where I live and my birthday isn’t right either. What? They’re getting in the way of my glorious Persona time for that? Whatever! I’m sure that mess will untangle itself in a flash, right?

See you all next week.

TAYsteful Thoughts™Have a good week, everybody!
