Well, somehow we survived the forums upgrade. Decay was a champ, last week, and did the VNTS post all on his own while I was wrestling with code demons and broken threads, so a big thanks to him. There are a lot of other people who deserve shout-outs for their heroism this week, though. Ryechu has been doing a killer job with the reviews team, and I’ve put a list of recent reviews at the bottom of this post for you to check out (a few highlights: Ryechu: fault -milestone two- Side:Above; Palas: Black Closet; Solidbatman: Over The Hills And Far Away). Nayleen has been a champ: it’s been a while since somebody tried to take us down with a DDoS attack, but we got one this week and Nay fought it off. He also helped me fix the forums yesterday after I broke them (in my defense, Nosebleed and Xions made me do it, and I made backups beforehand). OriginalRen and I had some great discussions this week, too, and he shared some thoughts on how to improve the site. Rose has done a great job planning the Player Mentors Program reboot (more on this tomorrow). Our global and board moderators have done a great job helping me parse out the forums damage, too. These and so many others deserve a huge ‘thank you’ for making our community better.

Welcome to our weekly VNTS (Visual Novel Translation Status) series, in which we track visual novel translation updates in-house (we don’t rely on /jp/ posts on 4ch, for example) and post it for your enlightenment and enjoyment each Saturday. Decay’s Musings
It’s three in the morning right now and I’ve been listening to Neon Indian’s new album on repeat for hours on end, guess that means it’s time to write another Decay’s Musings! Before I go any further, I had the privilege of interviewing Akerou, translator for SakuSaku. Please do check that out, he’s a good guy and he provides some insightful commentary on the process and difficulties of translation. Also congratulations to him and his team for reaching 100% translation!
GGN2015 released this week, huh? Is that thing even good? From how they talked about the new content, it sounded like they actually attempted to make the romance more substantial and doubled the amount of content. They’ve even mentioned “night scenes” with the girls as a new addition, whatever that could mean for an all-ages game. But I’m not interested in a virtual tour guide. But then again I’m not a fan of typical touristy stuff in general, I’ve always found the idea to be a little condescending. I don’t expect it to be good, but my curiosity is going to get the better of me one of these days. Probably soon, during this doldrum before some of the big releases hit.
It is now four in the morning and I’ve been watching a man undergo some bizarre form of torture known as a Dan Ryckert Mario Maker level for the last hour. I haven’t really been playing anything for the last week. It was one of those weeks where you’re not really sure where the time went. Not because so much happened, but because literally nothing happened. Well, I have been playing a VN, but I’m not allowed to talk about it yet. It’s really great though, which you’ll all be able to see for yourselves soon enough. I’m reminded that I abandoned Air a few months ago 75% of the way through the final route. I have a bad habit of doing this (RIP Dual Savior forever now that I upgraded to Win10), it’s kind of inexplicable. I also just casually stopped playing FFX thirteen years ago like an hour before the final boss. Not because I was frustrated or disappointed. I just didn’t feel like it was necessary to continue and see the ending. I still have never seen it. Oh well. I think I’ll force myself through Air’s finale so I can get at least one more checked off from my VNDB VN list.
Oh yeah, and good AstralAir progress this week, and I’m excited to see Irotoridori no Sekai resume translation soon. You know, I was kind of cold on Hoshizora no Memoria. It wasn’t bad, but I also didn’t think it was great. I sort of scratched my head wondering why so it was so beloved. But for whatever reason, I’ve become infected with Favorite Fever, and I feel like IroSeka might be more up my alley. AstralAir doesn’t look too bad, either. Here’s hoping they can produce a game where I don’t hate half of the cast.
It’s four thirty in the morning and I need to end this stupid stream of consciousness nightmare. So I can watch more Mario Maker horribleness. Final thought for the week:

TAYsteful™ Thoughts
A lot has happened over the last week for our community. Here’s a little breakdown for you to keep you up to date on our goings-on:
- Forums: we made a colossal jump in forums software (IPB 3.x > 4.x) which broke stuff and caused thousands to riot in the streets.
- Fuwazette Blog: Decay has been doing a phenomenal job revitalizing the blog. Not only is he my partner in crime with these VNTS posts, but he’s also been writing and interviewing to bring you great content throughout the week. I want to, again, thank the good folks over at JAST for their project progress page. They’re doing a great job of keeping it up to date. Sanah helped spark it — for which I’m endlessly grateful — but the JAST team have maintained it well. So thanks : ).
This week’s header image comes from Fate/Hollow Ataraxia. We finally added the Fate/HA Voice Porting project to this list and the VNTL-Moon updates aggregator. Here’s a link to their project thread — note, however, that the site is down over there at the time of writing and it’s been down (for me, at least) for most of the week. They’ve also got to do the coding. Since the coding is being done by ClockUp it’s self, MG has no control over how long it takes.

RE: Holy Breaker — It’s not so much a matter of slowed/stalled progress as it is lack of communication. I haven’t heard anything from the Skyspear team in a long time, and despite sending them messages, I haven’t heard back from them.
I’ve got their data saved, though, so if they pop up again one day I can easily add them back to the list.
They’re dead, not coming back. Though Skyspear was only the news bringer, the one working on the game wasn’t apart of them.
Really, whats hapenning with Little Busters EX? I been waiting for it like a year because i heard there content from all other versions. But right now i dont know whether i should read other versions or continuing wait for EX.
Every once in a while we get a sign of life from Doki. Someone says something, or a route gets TLCed, stuff like that. They claimed something would happen this summer and nothing did. The following is 100% pure speculation: I get the feeling that they had an understanding with Sekai Project that LB would get licensed, but then Key refused any additional licenses until Clannad was released. This caused any planned announcements or releases to be put on hold, and everyone is now just waiting to see what happens next.
It seems more complicated than i was thinking. I suppose i should wait… just as i wait for SubaHibi…
if you really can’t wait try the ex partial patch or normal version
and well there are only two main version:
normal one and ex/me (they’re the same,only difference is the ex having adult content)
or you can also try out all they’re other translated games (moon,one,kanon,air,planetarian,clannad,tomoyo after and rewrite)
I have read Planetarian and Rewrite. Right now i read Kara no Shoujo and i probably gonna read Kara no Shoujo 2 when it come out. Also, SubaHibi translation probably will be completed(at least i hope), so i think i can wait for EX. And i still have my “Need To Read” list, which contains 40+ titles…
by the way what difference have rewrite and rewrite harvest festa?

It’s like Majikoi S. It’s a fandisc that is nothing but extra content. It has side stories for each of the heroines (not all/maybe none(?) take place after the route endings) including Kagari, and there’s a dungeon crawling RPG minigame called Rewrite Quest with its own story. All pretty much non-canon.
Code Realize actually has a very specific release date at this point – October 20th in NA, at least. Norn9 is November 3rd. It’s just too bad they’re both only on the Vita. ;.;
(…Excited for Mahoutsukai no yoru actually maybe happening, too…. maybe….)
Also! For otome fans The Men of Yoshiwara appeared recently on Steam! The release date says Oct 19th… And it’s at a 40% discount right now. Apparently the English/translation is a little rough, but the art looks good… It’s a direct port of the Smartphone version that’s out though, instead of the apparently-superior PS Vita one. http://store.steampowered.com/app/381100/
Why keep groups like the ones that are supposed to translate amairo and clover in the list, if they will not finish anyway?
No updates in months and those are still there.. the website is not even available anymore…
There has been updates for both of these projects, though. With Amairo Islenauts, some team members have posted on the fuwanovel forums and while there are no concrete numbers, but they’re assuring us that work is happening. Who are we to determine that it will never finish in light of that? Me and Tay actually talked about that project specifically and we decided to keep it on the list for now.
With Clover Days, there has been recent updates, and that has even been reflected in the numbers. They recently got a new translator to work on the Tsubame route and that has noticeably advanced quite a bit in the last few months.
