Eushully's Madou Koukaku ~Yami no Tsuki Megami wa Doukoku de Utau~ to release in April

shakespeare25: Just finished the game’s trial version, and I enjoyed it, and naturally, I wanted to discuss it. Now, after playing Eushully’s Kamidori Alchemy Meister, and being the avid strategy game fan that I am, I was left wanting more. Fortunately, Madou Kokaku did not disappoint.

This First battle was brutal, took me three tries:koukaku gameplay

City Building elements:
Koukaku Menu

The game’s art does not hurt either:

Reminded me of Kamidori, before I lost all my save data…(sob)
The game also features territory capture elements as well as City Building, as if RTS elements in an eroge wasn’t rare enough. I am definitely looking forward to the game’s release on April 26, in my opinion it is worth at least looking into. [Official Site]

Eushully is arguably the top H-RPG developer (and several of their games are in the top 50 VNs by rank and popularity on VNDB). Their games are hardly “mediocre”. If you’ve only played Kamidori (which had superior gameplay but unimpressive story), you shouldn’t try to judge the brand as a whole. Ikusa Megami Zero has a much stronger story component.

That said, there’s apparently been a lot of complaints about this demo. The gameplay has some issues (such as archers charging into melee), which Eushully says they will try to address before final the release.

I think Eushully is the best at what they do, personally. If I want to bawl I go to Key, if I want great atmosphere I go to Type-Moon, if I want to sink hours and hours into a gameplay-based VN, nothing really comes close to Eushully. Alicesoft is a possible comparison, but even then Eushully games just feel way more solid. If they raised the bar for their stories and characters their games would probably be ridiculously good.
